Originally from Canada, Tricia followed her childhood dream to learn how to surf all the way to the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Packing only her back pack and tent, she set up camp on the pristine beaches on the Nicoya Peninsula and taught herself how to surf. 15 years later she is still living in Costa Rica with her daughter and soulmate. Together, they have run a successful surf camp for the past 10 years and continue to live the “Pura Vida” lifestyle, seeking entrepreneurial opportunities from their tiny corner of paradise.
Salty Bird Surf Apparel was inspired by the constant surf, warm waters and tropical beaches of Costa Rica, and brought to life on the magical island of Bali in 2013. Seeing the need for a higher quality of surf bikini to combine with her daily sessions, designer Tricia Zimmer took her passion for surfing and love for fashion and created the ultimate functional, feminine, and foxy surf bikini.
